Create a custom buffer around lines, subs, markers, polylines and polygons for a variety of uses.
Create buffer polygon
Identify the object you'd like to create a buffer around (in this case let's focus on a polyline)
Right-click the object on the map
In the pop up, click on the Create Buffer section to expand the input fields
In the 'Create Buffer' section, input the buffer distance and select the desired unit in the dropdown

Click Create to generate a buffer polygon on the map
You can create a buffer around most objects on the map including drawings (polylines, polygons, markers etc) and assets (transmission or distribution lines, substations, parcels etc).
Create a buffer around a hazard from a layer that's not included in the Buildable Area Analysis constraints (like a state specific layer) and manually remove that hazard from buildable area​
